May it be a great month
Hello to all of our dear friends and patients
Well the year has been off to a very fine start for our practice, with an inner city property secured in preparation for the resumption of our dental practice here, at 80 Lytton Road, East Brisbane. We will farewell the beautiful riverside views from all of our rooms, and the sweeping vista over the historical park there, however an offset by the promise of an architecturally designed facility , an update in technology, and an off the grid energy efficient collaboration. Of course it is an opportunity to create within a practically blank canvas, with a respect for history within a character overlay with recognised significance by the government with a heritage listing. It is an exciting prospect indeed and we look forward to a year of intricate planning in order to welcome all of our patients and friends in 2018 to our new practice.
In team news, Sabrina is our new clinical co-ordinator who has joined our practice, and is assisting our dentist, Leila Haywood clinically and helps our patients to feel comfortable in a chair side assisting capacity. Sabrina joined us from the Sunshine Coast, and we are most happy to have her here in our team.
Dr Amy and Nikita went to Thailand for a tropical holiday, and we recently celebrated Dr Amy's birthday. Dr Amy is working on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 7.30 am, however she is away from work until 8 May due a family emergency.
Holly, our Senior Clinical Co-ordinator is still with us as her career in aesthetics blooms and grows.
Our new practice and the tides of change or 'progress' as it is termed, and which will feel as such with completion of building, promises to be a new beginning for our long established practice, with a plethora of creative and optimising strategies underway, allowing for an update, recreation, and refinement with a view to the best dental experience possible, building on our experience, protocols and structure for excellence in the dental field.
We tragically lost our very beautiful and dearest of patients, Kathleen this Easter. This wonderful woman came in to my work 10 years ago, and the joy that she would bring to an everyday conversation and routine dental appointment is something that will stay with all of us in our memories. May she rest forever in peace X
These long weekends have proven to be opportune to relax and enjoy the beach, and it seems checking smiles has become as regular as the beat of waves upon the sands. Autumn is particularly spectacular and the sunshine streaming over the park here creates a balance with nature, and within our work, where precision, concentration and excellence are required at every turn. At work the momentum in river waves as viewed from the dental chair is set against the pristine splendour of coiffed greenery, both heritage protected fig trees, and a myriad of botanical species swaying in the cooler breezes, casts an image that imparts balance against the intricacies involved in dentistry for our dedicated team, and as a peaceful setting for our patients. Sky high city buildings can be glimpsed afar in the back drop as a reminder that although time stops in the flow of dentistry life, with countless hours absorbed in discussions or creations, bringing experiences that seemingly disappear as moments in time, but with results that remain indefinitely with structure that fuses experience with art and science, all packaged up in a smile.
I hope you have enjoyed the crispness of autumn, the cool breezes that echo of time for warmth and the infinite seasonal waves that course by year in year out. How lucky we are to be here.
Hope all is well and wishing you the very best
With the Kindest of Regards
Leila Haywood / Dentist / Brisbane Smile Boutique
